The approach is not theoretical, but concrete.
It is based on two main pillars:

  • the heat pump plant system Samsung EHS Quint

Sustainable construction in Desenzano del Garda: what does it really mean

When it comes to sustainable construction in Desenzano or on Lake Garda, it is necessary to distinguish between generic statements and verifiable technical solutions.

The Plastbau Polyfoam system: continuous insulation and reduction of dispersions

One of the central elements of construction is the adoption of the construction system Plastbau, developed by Poliespanso.

It is an integrated structural system in which high-performance expanded polystyrene (EPS) performs both insulating and supporting the reinforced concrete structure.

High performance thermal insulation

The system includes:

· Internal insulating layer in graphitated EPS

· High density graphitized EPS outer insulation layer

· Continuity of insulation over the entire vertical surface

· Drastic reduction of thermal bridges

This stratigraphy makes it possible to obtain:

· High thermal resistance

· Indoor temperature stability

· Reduction of winter dispersion

· Less summer overheating

The continuity of the envelope represents one of the most important factors in reducing the building's energy needs.

Acoustic comfort and quality of living

The Samsung EHS Quint heat pump: fullelectric heat recovery technology

The second pillar of sustainability of the TWIST project is represented by the integrated heat pump system Samsung EHS Quint .

It is a 4-pipe air—water and air—air system with R32 refrigerant with low GWP (Global Warming Potential).

Heat recovery and simultaneous operation

EHS Quint technology allows:

· Winter heating

· Summer cooling

· Production of domestic hot water (DHW)

· Condensation heat recovery

The system is able to produce ACS and cool simultaneously, exploiting heat that would otherwise be lost.

This mechanism allows you to:

· Increase overall efficiency

· Reduce energy consumption

· Optimize seasonal performance

Building without gas: a choice consistent with the future

The TWIST project does not require the use of methane gas.

The air conditioning and the production of domestic hot water are completely electric. This means:

  • elimination of direct combustion
  • reduction of local emissions
  • greater plant safety
  • alignment with future European directives on decarbonization

Building full electric today means anticipating tomorrow's standards.

Integration with radiant systems and mechanical ventilation

The system is integrated with:

  • radiant floor panels
  • direct expansion indoor units
  • controlled mechanical ventilation with heat recovery

Mechanical ventilation ensures continuous air exchange, energy recovery in winter and improvement of indoor air quality.

The result is a stable environment, free of temperature changes and with controlled humidity levels. Comfort and sustainability are the same.
